Reported in the MerseyRailways 2.0 FB group that 108 and 114 will be stood down at end of service tonight.

Leaves just 104 for the 508s that will still be in service after today..
A right blow to my potential trip to the area tomorrow then! They just couldn't have made it one more day could they :'( At least 104 still clings on for now. Any ideas on potential 001 workings for tomorrow and has 002 been spotted out much at all? Thanks

The units will only get assigned circuits for tomorrow, late on tonight. What they get assigned to depends on mileage, planned maintenance and unit faults (ie Non Split etc), then add in train crew issues like a driver isn't 777 trained, a 50 will be brought in to replace a 777 if one is available.

507002 is leading 507017 on the 1651 Hunts X - Southport tonight.

507001 is booked to finish at Birkenhead North Depot tonight so a possibility is the Southport line tomorrow, or otherwise back on the New Brighton line.

Also worth mentioning, an abysmal three of the five booked Southport PM six-car are short-formed today, yet another two perfectly serviceable sets are about to be pulled. Miseryrail in a nutshell.

I think there must be an issue with 507002 at the moment. It always seems to be formed as a 6 Car. It's currently heading back into the sidings at Southport after working 2S44.
Also an ECS move currently to Southport - could this be a unit taking over from 2S49 which is 508114?

Cheers both, hoping for 001 on New Brighton's again, will just have to wait and see. Good to hear 002 is still out but if I remember correctly, when all of the 508's are gone then 002 is one of the next 507's to go?

Yes 114 to finish at SOP on 2S49 at 1854

508104 is making its ways up ECS to Southport as 5T63 - just seen it at Sandhills.

Do you know what 508108 is finishing on?
Up to now 2W57 2231 WKI-WKI but could change

Wish I'd read those posts about 508114 a bit earlier. I was on it working the 1751 HNX-SOP but left it at Central!

Edit - Traksy is now showing 508114 as forming the 2042 from Southport later, which if correct would mean it works the 2151 Hunts X - Southport and the 2318 Southport - Liverpool Central would be its last working. Confirmation or denial appreciated.

That would enable it to finish at Birkenhead North E.M.U.D tonight as the unit(s) from 2G00 2318 Southport to Liverpool Central now head ECS to Birkenhead North E.M.U.D from Central.

508114 is indeed back out for one last dance, running the 2151 Hunts X - Southport at present. 508108 has also stayed on its diagram.

For the record 508 104 is stabling at Southport for the night, it's the last train in

Not sure if there has been a mix-up or change of plan, but the 2318 is formed of 507017 alone. This unit worked the 2206 service from Hunts X behind 508114 and despite arriving in the same platform 2 as 114 at Southport, the units were not coupled.

Therefore, unless 508114 is used tomorrow, its last working was the 2151 Hunts Cross - Southport tonight.

508108 has arrived at West Kirby, however appears to be staying the night on platform 1, the usual ECS move to New Brighton on this diagram is cancelled on RTT and no other ECS moves shown, next movement from platform 1 is the first service tomorrow morning.. is it finished or is it not? Who knows!

A mini-reprieve for both 508s hopefully. :)

There was a 06.45 5T60 from West Kirby to Birkenhead North Depot this morning.

I think this was 108s last working

Gutted as I'm heading into town today to try to find them. 104 and 114 were at Southport last night I think.

114 was supposed to end up at BN last night but a report says it's duty was carried out by 507 017 (23.18 s'port-Central)

Hoping I may just catch 108 outside the depot at least

Thanks for the info, in that case it means I was 508108s last fare paying passenger last night! Sad times.

Appears this is 508114's ECS move from Southport. It will probably make its move from Kirkdale depot soon after.
Thanks for this

From what someone posted I think this will not go into Kirkdale and instead another path will appear for a Sandhills to Birkenhead North working .

No doubt be proved wrong though!

May do or it could work the now rarely used 5B17 ECS move;

This has just appeared, think it'll pick up from Sandhills running early

I take it 5T62 was 508114?
Was it running on its own or coupled to a 507?

Are 508108 & 508114 still going for scrap Monday 8th Jan?

508114 confirmed by sight as on 5T62. It's now outside Birkenhead North Depot. Sad times indeed.

507001 is heading over to the Northern Line on 5T63.

114 was on its own, I caught it at James Street, the driver had taken 108 into the depot earlier too

Any sightings of what unit(s) formed the following to and from West Kirby - 507003 perhaps?

508104
SOP 1627 (6) 1857 2127
HNX 1506, 1736 (6) 2006 2236

WKI is solid with new stuff
NBN is solid and "real" trains except 1523 1623 1723 which is new and yellow.

507032 should be on ELP 1512 1642 1812

As always things can change.
