I guess the reason may become clear once Northern eventually loads its May timetables.I thought it might be something like that...still seems a quite odd to have a one-way service.

The main TL Littlehampton service is only ever going to be three up in the morning peak and three down in the evening peak. They’ve never promised anything else.We were promised more trains on the TL London Bridge through to Littlehampton as the cut the service down when the transfer from Southern to Thameslink happened, wonder if they will deliver
Anyone here know when GTR publish their timetable
Not sure if this has appeared on here (apologies if it has) but it seems that trains operated by GWR (Hereford - Worcester - London Paddington) and XC (Cardiff Central - Birmingham NS - Nottingham) will commence to call at the new Worcestershire Parkway station starting 19th May 2019. Thus the city of Worcester will, for the first time since the closure of the stations at Henwick and Astwood, have more than 2 railway stations. I may go and get a photo or two.
Sunday trains (from 19th May): http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/WOP/2019/05/19/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
Monday - Friday trains (from 20th May): http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/WOP/2019/05/20/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt
Looks very much as if everything will call there but the connection times seem, in some cases, a bit long (and, in others, not enough?) when changing between the two lines.
Cheers,
Dave

Not expected to be any major changes. Might be the some minor retiming to accommodate other services.Does anyone have any information whether there will be changes to Northern's Crewe services. They currently operate hourly Crewe-Stockport-Manchester Piccadilly and hourly Crewe-Manchester Airport-Manchester Piccadilly-Liverpool Lime Street services
I get the impression most of the big changes on Northern have been delayed to December and 2020
If you mean hourly Northern services into Manchester on Sundays, won't that have to wait for changes to the Sunday working agreement? I mean including Sunday in the working week - now that the guard's dispute has been suspended, maybe progress can be made with this. I don't see how relying on overtime/rest day working is compatible with running more trains, given the number of cancellations every Sunday.I hope not! Been waiting for hourly Sunday services for years!

A couple of cancellations each way is pretty optimistic given the current sunday operating difficulties.
They can't even run an hourly Hazel Grove terminator and Colne service as it is full stop.
Not an especially realistic prospect, that.So what happens if they don’t introduce an hourly Sunday service, then the issues are resolved quickly after the timetable change, are we supposed to just have a terrible Sunday service ‘just in case’ part of a good one gets cancelled?
Not an especially realistic prospect, that.
After May 2018, I'd like to think we've all realised it's foolish to try launching new services until everything's in place to make them work.
It's odd as it's not totally missing, there are bits of it there.Does anyone actually know when Northern will upload their May timetable given that it seems to be the only one missing now?
Evidently, Northern are not (yet) in a position to do anything about that. Given that they seem to not have enough staff to run the services which are committed to on a Sunday, introducing more at this point would seem really rather foolish. However, since 1) we don't actually know what Northern's timetable from May will be yet and 2) there is a whole separate thread for discussing it anyway, let's leave this specific issue here for now, eh?So it just so happens that:
Buxton
Sandbach
Glossop/Hadfield
Saltburn
Blackburn
All get an hourly Sunday service, but Congleton doesn't because it 'might' not always run.
The only electric south Manchester route with a dreadful service on Sundays.
May 2018 a whole route wasn't ready when it should've been, on Monday an electric train ran across said route.

Doubt it, we arent back at T-12. Will be a couple of weeks later. The official position (I asked) is that they don't know themselves yet when it will be published. T-12 will (I think) fall on the weekend of 24th Feb, so fingers crossed we'll have something by then.
This is great. Thanks for setting it up.Online now with additional information to indicate relative database size by operator;

There is a list of Sunday service improvements planned for May and they are all in Yorkshire, where terms and conditions are different. Hourly Leeds - Selby, Leeds - Doncaster, Leeds - Sheffield (presume via Moorthorpe), York - Hull and Hull - Scarborough is what I read in "Today's Railways".Evidently, Northern are not (yet) in a position to do anything about that. I think that says a lot about what the problem is that's stopping enhancements elsewhere. There is a list of Sunday service improvements planned for May and they are all in Yorkshire, where terms and conditions are different. The provisional changes in May 2019 show trains from Dunblane to Edinburgh at 07:02 (arr 07:58) and 07:58 (arr 08:58). It is possible to get the 07:30 from Dunblane as far as Stirling, changing onto the Alloa to Edinburgh service, which gets you in at 08:28.Indeed- The two fast services were significant improvements when they were first introduced. The morning one, in particular, seemed to benefit from priority at Winchburgh junction (?), where many services would have to wait for a Glasgow/Edinburgh service to pass.
Many commuters have had to change their schedules as a result of the new timetable- it's been a significant issue and the way that the existing well-timed, fast, reliable services have been replaced by slower, disruptively inconvenient journeys has not done the service any favours...
I really hope things do improve significantly in May...
Cheers,
W.
