Where do you see this?
Also I see that Liverpool to London is ending (LNWR) being replaced by Liverpool to New Street
No worries. Happens to the best of usSorry, I’ve been mistaken, i always thought the London services were split between Crewe and Liverpool

Arg, thats realy annoying if that happens. First bus upto Carnforth from Lancaster at the moment only arrives at 0904, then 1004. Even should that 1013 service extend through to Lancaster it wouldn't get to most of the area till around noon. Maybe worth sending a quick email to Stagecoach/bus users group. Stagecoach usually seem slightly more willing then Northern (understandably). Maybe it will also all get sorted when the timetables get published in a few weeks?Looking at the new Cumbrian Coast Sunday service on RealTrainTimes it seems that the first two northbound trains of the day start at the rather odd location of Carnforth (0850 and 1013), rather than Lancaster. Is this a temporary arrangement due to engineering works between Lancaster and Carnforth I wonder? Even more annoying is the fact that the first train of the day into Carnforth from Leeds arrives in Carnforth at 1014, missing the connection to the Cumbrian Coast by 1 minute. My hopes of finally being able to the train from West Yorkshire for a day's walking in the West Lakes on a Sunday seem to have been dashed.

That's an interesting way of addressing it, but which route would Northern use their EMUs on from Wigan NW? I'd assumed the Alderley Edge, but that was patched via Bolton wasn't it?There is a possibility that due to the Bolton wiring delays, TPE will have to run non stop between Man Picc and Preston - in both directions, via Chat Moss. I understand that there will be no Wigan NW stop provided at all due to path issues, primarily due to extra Northern EMU's being given paths via (and stopping at) Wigan NW, and the Oxford Road stop being missed saves 3-4 minutes as well.
Are you thinking via Chat Moss using EMUs and send the Barrow/Windermere 158s via Bolton? Not a bad plan if so.It's probably more likely that the Manchester Airport - Balckpool North services would call at Wigan North Western, if they go that way.
I think that's always going to be a challenge in the peaks no matter what happens, to be honest.I fear that providing adequate capacity for Bolton to Manchester will continue to be a challenge...
They can admire the flower displays, at least in the daylight. Far better than Wallgate or North Western. The local community has done a lot of work to improve the appearance of Hindley station, so it's a bit unfair to slag it off.The option is there, but making folk change at an unstaffed hole, in the dark, when not even all trains stop there is not going to win any friends, not when everyone has been used to changing at Wigan Wallgate for years. It's going to be a learning curve for any regulars who are losing their through trains.
Perhaps they could introduce an off peak single priced ticket. The Stockport-Stalybridge train is moving to Saturday at 09:45
Perhaps they could introduce an off peak single priced ticket.
When was that?I think a GM Rail Ranger is a more usual purchase. Good call on moving it to Saturday, maybe it will become profitable again. They should really try to get it nearer 1200, as when it was around that sort of time it was a very popular enthusiast day out - ride the train, then pie, peas and a pint of bitter at the buffet bar - back then it had to be making money.
When was that?

Nice. Running it later sounds like a good idea from what you say. It does beg the question why did it have to make money and why doesn't it try to do so now but that is going off topic.Somewhere between 1997 and 2001, I often used to do it for a Saturday out when I was at uni. Was a solid Class 101 working back then, too.
Quite possible that some people on here will remember the attached!![]()
) confirms that. But it was definitely Saturday for some of it too.
It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I have never been to Hindley so am not slagging off the town or the station, just making an observation that in general it is better to be changing at somewhere that has staffing, basic facilities and other alternative transport options when things go belly up and there is maybe an hour's wait for the next connection. As someone else pointed out there will be winners and losers from this anyway, with Bolton to Liverpool becoming a same station change at NW instead. They can admire the flower displays, at least in the daylight. Far better than Wallgate or North Western. The local community has done a lot of work to improve the appearance of Hindley station, so it's a bit unfair to slag it off.
I'm being picky, but that's actually a small improvement (most of the day) since the connection will be within Wigan NW, rather than changing from NW to Wallgate.with Bolton to Liverpool becoming a same station change at NW instead.
I know, I said that as being one of the winners.I'm being picky, but that's actually a small improvement (most of the day) since the connection will be within Wigan NW, rather than changing from NW to Wallgate.
Thank you. That ties in with the Southeastern May 2018 consultation timetables. Do you think we can assume that the calling pattern is finalised - i.e. all stations from London Bridge to Rainham save for Woolwich Dockyard, Belvedere and Erith?
These are now in and match the calling pattern you've given
e.g. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/W64381/2018/05/21
From London Bridge - trains to Luton at xx28 and xx58, trains to Rainham at xx18 and xx48.
17 mins turnaround at Rainham.
Has there been a comparison real time made up for between winter and summer timetable yet.
The previous ones have been a great help!
Now available (although Summer 2018 not yet fully populated)
