Lowestoft gains on a Sunday with 7 additional services to/from Norwich (service becomes hourly now) as well as an extra East Suffolk at 17:05 to relieve the overcrowded 16:05/18:05 & returns from Ipswich at 19:07.

Great Yarmouth has its usual Saturday extra services from Norwich which have been enhanced to run every hour non-stop to take the pressure off the stopping services. Other years some hours have been missed out. Not heard anything about the through London workings which usually start July. Where rumours they would not run this year & crew training has started on 37s.

In summary, hourly Sunday services for Newcraighall, Paisley Canal and Bellgrove-Springburn; and an extra early morning Glasgow-Oban and return on Saturdays. I don't know if that's it or whether new bits will be added as appropriate. The first changes have been discussed a bit on the new Abellio franchise thread.

Strange thing about the Scotrail ones is no mention of the Winchburgh engineering work on the times. (With the exception of the East Coast service which has two entries for runnning normal route and via Ladybank) Not very user friendly in my view.

I downloaded the East Midlands Trains timetable and it shows a spectacular monday to friday service from Scarborough between midnight and 8am. The first page of the northbound (from St Pancras) has all the northbound times but the headings in the first column are southbound. I have emailed them to point out the mistake!!

At this stage the only major operators left are Southern, c2c and WYPTE.

Southern have published this update today, which also explains why the National Rail timetable has not yet appeared.

The Southern summer timetable comes into effect on Sunday 17th May.

These changes have only just been validated by Network Rail which will mean an unavoidable delay to availability of pocket timetables at staffed stations. Yes, and unfortunately LM aren't doing anything about the illogical pattern for late night London - Northampton trains at MKC - the current departures are:

22.32
23.02 (logical)
23.23 (logical)
00.18 (less logical, but OK an hour)
00.23 (really? 5 mins later ?!)
01.09

Why there's a gap of almost an hour from 23.23 then a 5 min wait is bizarre.

I'm sure there *used* to be a 23.50ish departure - and the weekend times are more consistent without a 1 hour gap followed by 5 mins.

The really odd part is there is an arrival which terminates at MKC at 23.50 and then runs ECS to Northampton........ so why not run it 'in service' to NMP and then terminate?

Thanks for the update - that gives me a fortnight's notice that I have 1 minute to get from my bus to my train (usually including buying a ticket) as the train is now 3 minutes earlier.

This could make getting to work interesting.

Interesting changes on the Wharfedale Line.

Ilkley to Leeds trains Monday to Saturday daytime retimed to xx:10 and xx:38 (as opposed to 10 and 40 each hour) with variations by a few minutes here and there, which is apparently related to the opening of Kirkstall Forge station (they also say Apperly Bridge too, but Wharfedale tains can't call there.

More interesting is the Sunday departures. Leeds at xx:21 every hour and Bradford's at xx:53 every other hour becomes xx:05 each hour to Leeds and xx:25 each odd hour to Bradford.
Opposite direction departures will be xx:05 from Leeds and xx:27 from Bradford.

Yes it's annoying - the 'commercial information' PDF usually gives a nice little summary, but is yet to be updated...

The Northern Pocket Timetables however are not available online examples being Morecambe to Lancaster, Preston to Ormskirk but for some reason the actual printed versions are available to pick up at the station which begs the question why are they not online?
