Maritime Stations

As far as I know it's still there, though I don't know when it was last used. I think on the recent recreation of the steam hauled Golden Arrow, passengers were bussed to Calais Ville.

The site has been cleared according to Google Earth.

Most French ports had a Gare Maritime but none remain in use.

In mainland Europe, Oostende would still be usable.

Germany has Emden Aussenhafen and Norddeich Mole, Hamburg Landungsbrücken (Hochbahn not main line!) and Lübeck Skandinavienkai, the island stations of Borkum, Langeoog and Wangerooge, and most significantly the train ferry terminals of Puttgarden and Sassnitz (Mukran Hafen). You could also include Lauterbach Mole, but that's only round-the-island stuff!
And Lindau Hbf and Friedrichshafen Hafen on Lake Constance.

Sheerness-on-sea was very near the ferry terminal that used to have ferries to Holland.

The station at the other end Vlissingen is right next to the ferry terminal from memory

Portsmouth Harbour gets you the fast cats to Ryde or the shuttle to Gosport, but not the slower Fishbourne car ferry (a short walk though), the Ryde Hovercraft and a long way from Portsmouth International.

Mindyou, on the international ferries at least foot passengers are a very small market these days.

PMS is officially the transfer station for the hovercraft and international ferries via a bus link.

As a Maritime station? Not unless you bend the definition of Maritime beyond its normal use. Windermere is merely a mere, not even a lake, let alone a sea

Calais-Maritime and Boulogne-Maritime were both closed on 21 January 1995, I believe. I have fond memories of going to Calais-Maritime in 1992 on my way to see a French girlfriend...

If we can stretch the point a little and reverse the original question, its possible to catch a ferry from Gibraltar (a UK possession) to Algeciras in Spain where a train service exists

If there was ever a Ferry or cruise line that operated from Whitby then surely Whitby would qualify?

How about Southampton Flying Boat Station instead of a maritime connection?
I understand that it only ever had 2 trains stop there.

Before it closed didn't the narrow gauge Mull Rail connect with the ferry? Abroad, some of the busiest rail/maritime must be Circular Quay station in Sydney, Istanbul Sirkeci and Haydarpasa stations and the few in Hong Kong/Kowloon.

Also in Australia there is the narrow gauge sugar cane railway in Port Douglas which connects the hotel strip on the approach road with the harbour with its dozens of barrier reef trips. Another one is the Cockle Train in South Australia which now connects to a steam ship at Goolwa-the station is right by the dock.

There are also plenty of tourist orientated steam ones in Europe that connect with lake/river steamers

Ramsgate Harbour (Closed 1926) when the new line linking London, Chatham and Dover line from Margate to the South Eastern line from Ashford was opened. Unusual for having a turntable instead of a headshunt.

Kyle of Lochalsh before the bridge opened.

The station pier at Kyle had nothing to do with the Skye ferries which were killed off by the bridge. It used to be a calling point on the Cal-Mac ferry from Stornoway to Mallaig, providing a useful link from Kyle to Mallaig which I used in 1972 on a round Britain rail trip, avoiding having to go back south via Inverness. That option disappeared when the Stornoway ferry was transferred to Ullapool.

Romanshorn as well, the station is within walking distance of the Romanshorn - Friedrichshafen ferry (a couple of hundred metres at most), Also it's a short walk from Konstanz to the Konstanz - Friedrichshafen catamaran.

The only one I can think of is Embankment which is on the opposite side of the road to Charing Cross (Embankment) pier
