On a train...somewhere!
Probably via Knottingley if there are any HSTs or Class 67s to drag the 91s around.

Grand Central have been running this way.

HSTs could run via Askern, although Leeds is also an option for VTEC with HSTs or hauled MK4s. As the Thunderbird was used to rescue 1Y32 I suspect it'd be HSTs only.

Only one GC service operated via the Askern today.

19:33 from KGX lollopping into Leeds, having been stuck behind a stopper from Doncaster. An expensive day for VTEC

Possibly. I hadn't noticed because NRE doesn't have a disruption alert on Leeds and this information wasn't given at the station.

Why would it? The Leeds services don't go via Hambleton.

I have finally found this and the correct NRE page about the disruption. It's so difficult to get the right one on mobile. I'm at York it's rather chaotic. I wasn't even supposed to be, the 1745 from Leeds was cancelled although it wasn't at all apparent why!

Never had problems, especially from the app. Try using the twitter section in the app. You'll find the links to disruptions in there.

It'll probably have been cancelled because of set/staff displacement.

Yes but the sets that operate the Leeds service do. According to NRE till quite late, the only factor affecting Leeds services was a broken train at Stevenage.
Mrs O has returned home at about 00:35.

It doesn't but the level of disruption caused by it was always going to affect services to/from Leeds.

Indeed. But I was fooled because there's been no mention of the actual maniline disruption at Leeds and relatively few of the other services were disrupted.

You can deduce what happened from RTT: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y58252/2015/11/09/advanced
The incoming train for the 1745 (the 1505 ex King's Cross) was cancelled "because of a power supply problem".
The earlier 1145 Leeds-King's Cross was cancelled because of a "fault with the traction equipment".
The 0903 King's Cross-Leeds was cancelled at Stevenage because of "a problem with the brakes" (it blocked the fast line at Welwyn for the best part of 2 hours).
It looks as though Virgin were one set down all day after the Stevenage incident, regardless of the OHLE problems later.

All very well now yes, less so when you're stood soaked tired and half-crushed on the concourse at Leeds with no idea there are any line problems or broken down trains elsewhere trying to decide what the quickest way is going to be.
