I was travelling today on the 1223 York to Blackburn service (normally Blackpool North) and it has a scheduled call at Low Moor at 1323, this seemed odd as Low Moor is normally served by the 10 past the hour Chester service (aswell as the Huddersfield and Grand Central services). On checking RTT it would appear for just one hour in the day the 1310 Chester service runs no stop through Low Moor and instead the normally non stop Blackpool service calls at 1323, does anyone know the reason behind this break in the otherwise clockface timetable?

Intriguing - for some reason the Chester leaves Interchange at 06 instead of 04, hence skipping the stop, but I can't see an obvious reason.

It's worth noting that said Leeds-Chester service also skips Mytholmroyd. I can't find a reason why - Looking at Saturday 18th's workings I can't find any conflicting movements, and that's a day when there are TPE trains diverted onto the Calder Valley Line. Most bizzare.

1D77 seems to depart from Interchange P2 rather than the standard P4 so something must be out of pattern as it waits for 1B26 to arrive, or nobody has looked to re-standardise the platforming. On first glance it seems 1J12 could be P4, 1D77 P3, 1B26 P2 but then again I don't know the rules.

Personally I'm of a mind that the issue was further up the line, possibly to allow a freight on or off the Calder Valley, but the freight has since been retimed/diverted/removed from the timetable, but the passenger timetable has simply been rolled forward without anyone at either Northern or NR realising the variation in the clockface timetable is no longer needed. If nothing else it might provide a little extra white space for an STP or VAR schedule.
