I’m just wondering

As always, those who score higher will generally be invited to assessments sooner whilst the benchmarks for each intake are worked out - it isn’t an exact science.

There are still people waiting for start dates from previous campaigns, and you will certainly have a wait measured in months if you are successful. This is not unusual for railway jobs.
Tbh my first interview was supposed to be 5th September. But it got delayed 3 weeks because of train strikes. So I would have done my SBI/roleplay too already.

Hey just a question for people that have already started training. Did you find out where you’ll be based on day 1 and has everyone been happy with where they’re based?

You find out on day 1 or 2. They give you a chance to swap with someone else in your group but it has to be mutual and has to be done by the end of that day.

Still waiting for my start date, got offered role in May, but the onboarding process took ages.
I was just wondering how long did you have to wait to find out you had passed your SBI? I took mine on Tuesday last week and noticed someone else in the group who did there assessment on Tuesday as well got an email on Thursday to say they hadn’t passed .

Hi everyone,

Are the AC1 Written Communication & Data Interpretation, role-play, and SBI all done on the same day? Also, is this held in Stratford?

Hi, the ac1 is one day and role play & sbi are the same day, providing you pass role play.

It can be either Ashfield house or Stratford :)

What’s the best advice for ac1
I would like to know aswell. I think you can’t prepare beforehand. You just show up and it’s all common sense.

My friend just said he was unsuccessful in the AC1 … how do you pass it?

Got my CSA2 offer at the end of Sept 2024 in their campaign last year, but still waiting on a training date. I rang TfL recently and they said people with Aug/early Sept offers are on the Oct courses, which matches what others have posted here, so I thought mine might be soon too.

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant (happy but unexpected news!) — only concern is if they push me to Jan/Feb 2026, I might struggle with the full 3 months’ training. Should I let TfL know so they might prioritise me, or hold off? Would really appreciate any advice. I've been so excited to join and I'm a bit worried now :/

The training is only 4 weeks by the way so maybe do the training at least before the special day then you can take maternity leave I guess but I don’t know

hi all thought I would put this in here I’m coming to the end of my first week for anyone that’s got the job or starting training soon. These are the tips that I would advise you know straight away. Lateness we are told from day 1 that it will not be tolerated so make sure your are not late my advice get there atleast 30 mins before! To leave you enough time to get settled and if anything goes wrong.
Second point. Take notes and listen to everything there is so much to learn but the trainers also make it fun and it’s really enjoyable but hard work is needed to pass. But as long as you have that you will be fine. I’m loving it already :) good luck everybody who is going through the process it’s definitely worth it

Thanks for this. It's really important that real life (recent) experiences are shared, so I'm sure a lot of people will be grateful for your update.

Many people don't realise that a lot of stations have a London Fire Brigade mandated minimum number of staff required to open or remain open. If staff are late, the station can't open/remain open. This leads to interesting questions being asked by line controllers who have to non-stop the trains, and will generate an electronic report that will ultimately be discussed at very high levels within the company. So timeliness is very important.

When were you informed about your training dates, and how long is training? I'm super worried my role is at stake here and don't know what steps to take.
