I hope that after all of this, they forget to change the sign on the FCC GN platform at Highbury & Islington that says 'North London Link' still. They've got Overground written throughout the rest of the station!

North London Link appears at Hackney Central on the bridge over the High Street in big letters. At Finsbury Park on the LUL platforms the signs to the FCC platforms say "Network Rail". Bless

Network Rail? haha, haven't noticed that!

Why can't they just say National Rail and have done with? Far better than 'Welwyn' or 'Stevenage' (as shown at Old Street and Moorgate respectively) too.

At Finsbury park, what about "Great Northern Electrics"? it's what the outside of the station says in massive lettering, afterall.

The confusing thing is trying to get a Railcard loaded onto an Oyster Card. Tried to do it at Shoreditch High Street, but was told to try Whitechapel as they can't do it.

Apparently only London Underground stations can add NR photocard numbers to an Oyster Card. Currently, LO stations from New Cross Gate to West Croydon can't even register a Oyster card either.

Incidentally Phase 3 of refurbishment (which includes replacement station signs with roundels) on the southern section of the ELL starts this month, which is due for completion in March 2011.

I thought the former southern stations now on the ELL was supposed to be Oyster ready at the ticket offices when the ELL opened.

Why dont LO want these stations to provide a full service is it so they can close the offices down.

The ex Southern ticket offices are Oyster ready as far as being able to purchase PAYG, 7 day or monthly travelcards or bus passes. Annual travelcards/Gold Card can only be purchased as paper tickets.

Those stations are unable to sell discounted Bus and Tram passes or Travelcards for Oyster customers. New Deal tickets can be purchased as paper tickets though. Nor can they register or update Oyster cards with photocard info.
