Any ideas when they will be used on the Euston-Watford DC line?
Any ideas what workings it's doing today?
I am led to believe there are a few problems with the external cameras and a few computer issues so there is not much chance of them being used DOO at the moment.
Not too sure if I like the seating arrangements on these trains. OK for just a short journey I suppose. But not an hour's journey from say Stratford-Richmond. Wouldn't really like being sat like that for that long, I'd prefer the normal style seating. But I suppose the majority of passengers on these services do just make short(less than half hour) journeys anyway.
Does anyone know what the number of the Class 378 which is at New Cross Gate Depot?

Saw one of these operating a DC line passenger service into Euston this afternoon. I'm fairly sure this is the first day of them on the DC lines as I've not seen it reported and the diagram that was one today was definitely a 313 yesterday.
You are absolutley right. 378007 running between EUS-WJC with a conductor as there are visability issues with the DOO bodyside cameras. Unfortunatley with 378's you cant simply stick your head out the window like with the 313s although I wouldnt mind seeing a LOROL driver trying on a boring shift
Have to say not sure how the journey went but every single arrival in euston was late, arriving at train time nearly every round trip whereas the 313's usually arrive early. Can anyone shed any light on why? Maybe dwell times are higher..

I agree with that statement, trains with guards tend to be painfully slow in comparison to DOO services but I was on a few 378s a couple of weeks ago and on both occasions there was a delay between the guard giving the buzzer and the train moving (must have been a slow driver!) Another issue could be that AIUI on 378s the guards are supposed to travel in the saloons and the procedure is to open local doors, check train, open other doors and then the reverse for closing - I wouldn't hesitate to say that the time in doing this is longer than for the single leaf cab doors on the 313s.Dwell times have not changed.. It's just that drivers who operate the doors on a 313 are quicker than a guard on a 378.
