London Midland class 150's

Guys!

Now is the time to spot/photograph LM's 150's, the clock is ticking!

My guess is that by the new year we will have less than half of Tyseleys units to work on the local lines around Birmingham!!!!!

I will be going through my photos to see what units I need to cop and take photos of!!!!!!!!

I really ought to go and get some shots of the 150s now, regardless of the picture quality.

I did see an ex-NWM 150 yesterday near Dawlish on the way back from Cornwall - these 150s are sure disappearing quick now!!

All the second generation class 150 sprinters have all gone to the scrap yard!

Only one 3car and one 2car set survived, 150001 and its on the SVR and this is a photo from October 2017 railcar gala.

Only 150108 and 150126 have transferred away from London Midland so far. Next ones won't transfer until some 172s enter passenger service.

I won't be surprised if it ends up being 2030 due to shortages of DMUs after the loss of pacers (when that happens eventually!).

Has anyone seen 150125 around recently. I haven't for a while. Same with 150122, 150214 and 216.

One question I have though is whether Northern will bother renumbering the 150010 etc. back to 150110 etc. If I was Northern, I know I would just leave it!

As of last Friday, 150122 was stabled on Tyseley during the day, while 150125 was out working in multiple with 150124 on Whitlocks End duties, and 150214 worked the 13:39 departure from Moor Street bound for Great Malvern.

Surely it would make sense for 150202 and 150216 to go to Northern to join the rest of the LM 150/2s, and for 150132 to go to FGW seeing as they are getting the rest of LMs' 150/1s that are currently in two car formation.

As for that whole list, there's some double counting going on:
If 150210 is already earmarked to go to Northern, then 3-car 150003 is actually only 2-car 150103 as the centre car of that hybrid unit is 57210. As for 150209 and 150212, they are only a single car each and as they are unable to run singly cannot be classed as a unit each surely, plus they are already included in 150016 and 150017, so in reality what you have is 4 x 3 car units (150001/2/16/17) and 4 x 2 car units (150103/32/202/16).

Did you notice that one power car was down?
The car facing Stourbridge was shut down Yesterday afternoon when I photographed it at Lye Station.

Today set is 150 013 and Bubble 375!

It passed through "the Lye" as we black country people say @ 14:15 to Stourbrigde and worked the 14:25 of Stourbridge back to Dorridge! My guess it would work the last two round trips off Dorridge @ 15:28 & 17:27 terminating at Worcester @18:58 to be removed from 153 375 and sent back as ECS to Tyseley!!!

Well that would be my theory!

You're talking about recent Railway Magazine (and Today's Railway's UK) then? Then I think both must have been written well before the DfT's recent announcement about the last few units, so it won't be worth using them as a basis for what's really happening...

what i don't get is why didn't they extend the platform at SBT and then use the 2 non counterparted DMS's on that line? Wouldn't have this 139 rubbish! (I catch it from work once a week - anymore and i go mad!)
