If I buy a Liverpool Lime street to London CIV ticket and use a ferry ticket Dover to France to complete my journey would this make my CIV ticket valid? If not what situation only by sea would make my CIV ticket valid?

Thank you :)

What ticket would cover you between London and Dover?

I'm not sure about the ferries to Eire, but none of the channel ferries do. The Calais day ticket is not considered an international journey, and there are no other rail+ferry tickets.

I'm 99% sure that at least some of the Irish ferries have CIV protection as I remember seeing it on at least one of my tickets.
