So, that's two major failures within a week at London Bridge (last Wednesday morning as well). No doubt however the statisticians will be along soon in best North Korean style to say that performance is 150% of target.

Just another observation on the ground, surprised nobody has mentioned that this caused significant knock on effects on the Underground. Victoria LU was closed for some time due to overcrowding!

London Bridge LU was also reported as being closed for a while due to overcrowding too.

Southeastern changed to an alternative timetable for a time - running trains from Plumstead to Dartford and Dartford to Gillingham shuttles. When such a things happens are the normal performance stats disregarded like when weather causes timetable changes?

Southern didn't run alternative timetable as far as I can tell. Was that a good idea or did Southeastern's approach work better?

They'll probably declare a void day.

The difference between the companies was purely down to signaling areas.

London Bridge box controls the lines put towards Dartboard hence the massive closure. Southeastern had no choice where as Southern's Metro area is run by Victoria or Three Bridges so they had little areas closed bar London Bridge itself.

Both TOCs tried to run where ever they can its just the area affected was mainly on one TOCs plan.

I mentioned North Greenwich earlier, but I'm not surprised that the rest of the network was affected. Victoria used to get closed due to overcrowding routinely on an average morning peak anyway, so that was a given.

Victoria LU overcrowding and routine closure has been going on for over 25 years now. So no need to address that problem yet then :-x.

Victoria Tube is in the midst of a major rebuild so the problem is being addressed, just many years later than required.

Your right. Whether there is any planned actual increase in capacity on the Northbound platform I don't know.

There is already the extra staircase down from the Southern concourse-ish. I did notice last Friday that this was largely blocked at the the bottom because of a sprawling queue of (tourists ?) for the ticket machines !.

I wonder if anyone used the Dangleway as a result of the carnage?

That is a far better mode of transport. No problems with people getting out and trying to walk if there is a failure ;).

The south ticket hall extension can't come soon enough at Victoria LU.

Last night was a nightmare. London Bridge, Cannon Street, Waterloo East and Charing Cross all closed, with Victoria severely overcrowded, eventually closing temporarily and St Pancras crowded too. Fortunately my train was one of the first few to be cancelled at CST so I got out of there quickly. Any idea yet on what caused the fire or is it still under investigation? Probably the biggest headache SE have had for a very long time. Credit to the engineers though!

There isn't any plan for new platform expansion but the Victoria line is currently running at 33tph in the peak and going up to 34tph next year.

Your comments were over a service suspension. People aren't going to get on trains if trains aren't running are they.

What your talking about is a different situation to why your now talking about which makes your above comments irrelevant.

Well of course its irrelevant I am not employed anymore, so I have no need to worry about what goes on at a station or on a train, as I have no need to use them anymore.

Also there are those trains that are stuck between stations like one yesterday that was stuck between West Brompton and Kenny O where only one announcement was made, but that is the modern customer service that TfL want.

LU had minor then severe delays to the District line because of the excess number of customers. A number of stations had to implement station control and in addition to Victoria, which had unprecedented crowding including queues stretching back from the NR concourse onto the LU platforms, the Met Police requested North Greenwich be closed due to the dangerous numbers of customers in the bus station!
