On Sundays 16th & 23rd of this month, my wife - who uses an electric wheelchair - and I travelled from Darlington to London Kings Cross with LNER.
I booked passenger assistance on the LNER website. Got the confirmation email. Arrived at Darlo & went to the help desk & was escorted to the platform and helped on with the ramp, arrived at KGX and the guy was just walking up to the coach door as I got out with the suitcase. We were escorted to right near the exit.
Same for coming back from KGX, the system seemed to work flawlessly for us and was a relief considering the nightmare stories I have seen on here and elsewhere. So nice one to LNER for making our journey so much easier.
As an aside, it was quite strange to see KGX station so comparatively quiet, even though it was Sunday midday / early afternoon in times of a pandemic.
It was also a bit warm wearing a mask in the Azumas, there didn't seem to be much airflow / ventilation.
