Unfortunately, Maps has stopped.
Komma - I'm only going on what I was told by a rep!!!

That's why he hasn't been slotted into my vacancy at BLY.

Wonder what the shifts are like at Leamington Spa?! Only a few LM services from there a day!

I'm sure it was said before that Leamington is an all-diesel depot. So that means 153, 170 and 172's will be the traction.

No probs, but it is a bit of a myth about Watford(bar one person)we do actually work down here. When I joined 2 years ago there were 2 vacancies left open for a while, but this year HR have been proactive and had people passed out and ready before people have left.

If there is more than one position at Watford,I can only think that maybe(a big maybe)that they are going to give us our revenue turn back on the Abbeys.

Leamington is a 172 only depot. Signs Leamington to Great Malvern, Leamington to Stratford and Stratford to Snow Hill (via Shirley and Hatton North junction)

Think there is 3 earlies. 2 middles and 1 late shift.

Anyone heard back yet? I haven't. Assessments are supposed to be tomorrow but surely they would have let candidates know by now!?

Ring them and pester them.
01216541149 or 43, I can never remember which.

One of the numbers went dead and the other was an answer machine message which I left details on. Presume now that I'm either not successful, the day is cancelled or they are not well organised at the moment which would tally in with other comments earlier. Just had the Dear John from Northern earlier so its not looking likely I will be on the Rails again anytime soon. Will persevere mind! Plenty of determination going here!

Yes! :) Got a feeling there may be lots of people fighting over 1 vacancy for Watford though!

Wow, you really must think your in with a chance, I would have waited until a least the next vacancies to arise, given myself time to settle in! But then again WFJ Senior Conductor positions are far and few between. Also Southern/Thameslink are other options one could suppose!
Good luck. ;)

I have been told that there are 2 vacancies at WFJ and that they are doing interviews this week and then sending people on to do the tests after.
At Watford we only have one line open on the link and the other person will be sat spare.

In terms of similar work in the wider Watford Junction/Southern WCML area, Thameslink run DOO-only so you won't find any conductor vacancies there. As for Southern, conductor-worked routes via Shepherd's Bush/Watford Junction are Link 1 Selhurst turns, and as such are pretty hard to get into. Southern's Northernmost depots are London Victoria and London Bridge (the latter being for drivers). Victoria conductors (rather bizarrely) don't sign 455s, which can turn up on WLL services, hence why they wouldn't be heading out that way.

for a long time you had a major advantage coming 'off the street' mate especially through the recession where if there was any recruiting to be done it would almost certainly be external rather than having to pay twice for an internal, their training and their replacement!

i remember being told by a senior management figure within my toc that at the present time I'd stand a better chance of getting a driving position by resigning as a conductor completely and applying 'off the street' how mad is that?....gotta appreciate the honesty if nothing else!

I'm actually glad there has been a big focus on internal promotions over the past few years as we were neglected in those terms for a long time!

having got into a driving grade from an already operational role i can certainly say it is a BIG help having already been around the environment for a few years and getting to know how the signalling works and the slang etc! i thought it was hard enough training as a guard 'off the street'! hats off to anyone that goes straight into driving 'off the street'

Interesting
