LM Class 153 Diagrams

Hi, I am wanting to Visit Birmingham in the next couple of days to try and see some London Midland class 153s, I know that they operate on the Coventry to Nuneaton service and Bedford to Bletchley. What services out of Birmingham New Street do they form and is there still a class 153 that works via Snow Hill?

also what time does the class 150 leave Birmingham for Hereford?

If people can post the booked services it would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the Birmingham to Hereford services are booked for a 170+153. The Chase Line also.

I'm not entirely sure of how many 150s work on the Hereford Line now.

What services out of Birmingham New Street do they form and is there still a class 153 that works via Snow Hill?

Yep, there's still a 153 on the Snow Hill lines, working in multiple with a 170/6 from about lunchtime onwards on the following:
12:51 Worcester Shrub Hill - Whitlocks End
14:19 Whitlocks End - Worcester Foregate Street
16:13 Worcester Foregate Street - Dorridge
18:03 Dorridge - Stourbridge Junction

The majority of the info could be extracted by going through timetables in detail, but it's a lot to do and doesn't cover ECS moves. At a rough (and completely random) guess I'd say there are around 15 diagrams??

There's 24 class 172 diagrams Monday to Friday, though I don't know the minutiae of each one. Of course, all the 172/2s run around in pairs all day (except one that is paired with a 172/3), so the number of actual train formations is a bit lower.

However, this does not correspond with the timetable which shows the 153 (identifiable by the symbol indicating limited cycle space) on the intervening services until the 1501 from Bletchley and then as above. There is also the question of how a single 150 can operate both the 1301 and 1401 from Bletchley! The only significant change to the existing timetable is that the Saturday diagrams are essentially the same as those on Monday to Friday whereas the 150 on Saturdays used to run the 153 Mon-Fri diagram and v.v.

Hereford: 4 Diagrams off-peak, Formed of a 150/1, a 153/170 Combination and 2 170 formations (I don't know the full minutiae of the diagrams, but that's the formations)

Shrewsbury: 3 Diagrams off-peak, formed of 170s only - 2 of which are in pairs, the other a single 170/5 unit.

Both services have additional diagrams at peak times, for instance, the Hereford line sees more 170s at peak times as the service intensifies to half hourly in the high peak, and similarly the Shrewsbury route gets an extra 3-car 170 diagram in the peaks.

The Chase Line has 4 Diagrams throughout the day. In the morning peak these are formed of:

1 x 2x170/5,

1 x 170/5-153combi

2 x 170/5

In the off peak period the 4 car 170 is reduced down to 2 car before being increased to 4 car again in the evening high peak, and after the morning peak, one of the 2 car 170's has a 153 attached to it for the rest of the day.
