Well I can’t see why they would mind. With two intermediate trailers there’s basically the same capacity as in a four carriage 158 formation (Assuming toilets in the two driving cars only).

Shorter station dwell times and better passenger circulation than the equivalent 158 formation due to the 1/3 and 2/3 position doors as well, albeit making it a bit chilly at station stops in the winter.

Hold on, perhaps im thinking of different turbos. I thought he was being sarcastic and was thinking of getting some 4 car Thames Turbos together.
Do ye mean Turbostars? That would make more sense!!

Big deal. 10mph speed difference over about 30miles, and thats only downhill since both types are usually on the 75mph slows uphill anyway to allow the Intercitys to overtake. 30miles at 90mph takes 20mins, 30mph at 100mph takes 18mins. Trains have to accelerate and brake though so it will take longer and the difference will be less.

There would be no difference because 158s have better acceleration!

Haha yeah, it does get confusing, it is indeed Turbostars that are being referred to. I try to use the full names of "Turbostar" or "Networker Turbos" (bit of a mouthful mind) for the two very different types of train when referring to one or the other, but it'll be more than once that I've referred to either simply as "Turbos".
