What seems to be holding the company up from improvement/progressing further
The owner. Evolve is just another shady cover up for Mike James, the whole company needs dissolving & future attempts from Mike under his familes name blocked, other people on this thread know more than I do, but the limited I know isnt good.

I'd followed the proceedings by the TC, and it seemed a corner had been turned following the action taken, new image, new transport manager appointed etc, has this not seemingly been the case?

The Burton bus scene is interesting for a town if its size, to say the least.

He's done this a number of times now, i believe his daughter is the new transport manager (so again another family member covering for Mike).

Very true, although I'd say quite a few of the ops are pretty much dire.

That's a shame as there's definitely potential & in this current climate I admire anyone for having a go, it's easy to watch from an enthusiasts point of view but to do it takes some balls, however to do it and succeed are two different things entirely.

Wouldn't have thought a breakdown at Meadowhall would be much fun for the passengers or driver, for example.

Without going too far off topic I'd agree with you but there are still stars that shine even on the darkest nights!

They already have links on the website so surely someone there knows how to make a link for when you click on something such as the routes they have on the website to a timetable page. I mean how hard is it to make a timetable even if it's a excel spreadsheet better than nothing

Agreed.

Nor is it that expensive when you say compare the cost of painting a bus.

Are there timetables in cases along the routes on the services?

I believe the three services in Burton are all ran commercially.

There are timetables at the stops along the Jinnie route.

Timetables for the Jinny and X1 are in place at almost all the stops. Sometimes placed over Diamond timetables.

It just seems half hearted - what a shame, especially with Diamond- a good second operator (such as how Buslink have done) could really help keep diamond at the top of their game.

You can produce a decent looking, functional website for free using providers such as Wix, with paid for options starting about about £10 with a domain, there isn't really an excuse for having a poor website these days.

Indeed. It's even messier when you look at it via mobile browsing.

Don't the likes of skills, CT4N, Transport Made Simple etc use the same website provider? The sites are all very similar.

it's provided by My trip by passenger Ltd

A very smart system used by a few operators.

Only CT4N and TMS is MyTrip by Passenger. But it's worth noting that it's not a cheap system either. IT's the lite version of the normal Passenger range, but it's still a lot of money.

Skills are using Distinctive Systems which is mostly built for coach tours and the bus area is just a side page with links to the timetable.

How long did they actually run that service for. One week I saw it tracking then never saw it track again the next week must of only ran it for a month or two before that quietly disappeared

Didn't that quietly vanish when the works at Swadlincote bus station started?

I think that’s why it not running at the moment because of Swadlincote bus park is shut
I presume other operators use the facility. Did they too pack their bags and go home, or agree alternative short term arrangements. So far as I can see, the Goseley Flyer remains registered, in which case there is a clear and persistent breach of the registration If it does not run.

I know they only got 5 to 6 drivers working for them at the moment.

An earlier post stated the cancellation was explained by this company as Staffordshire county council regarding twixmas as being Saturday service which was rightly pointed out as the service is in Derbyshire. The closure of the bus station appears to be an excuse for apparently failing to run a registered service. No wonder people turn away from the bus.
