With all the various much needed improvements being announced for the midlands and the north, it got me thinking what would be an “easy win” to further improve the rail network south of the Thames?
I think the much discussed Woking Flyover, Gomshall, Uckfield and Farnborough North projects all have significant merit but I also believe there’s a strong case in AC overhead Waterloo - Redbridge due to potential higher line speed, acceleration and the ability to provide infrastructure for 88 type locos.
