So does any cash change hands when 50033 gets signed over to diffrent parties, i assume the NRM never paid BR for it, and from your wording it does'nt sound as though STEAM paid the NRM for it?
As I understand it, BR donated Glorious to the NRM. When they de-registered her from the National Collection, she was effectively given away to STEAM free of charge. The only reason she ended up at Tyseley was that it was a stop-over in her journey to a destination in London to something akin to the Operation Collingwood which, like OpCo, fell through from lack of funding & I believe the current signing over process involves no payments by Tyseley Museum.

This is an extract of an email sent by Ian Horner, co-author of the recent book on D400.
Many of you will be familiar with the book 'First of the Last'

life and times of 50050 written by Andy Coward, Ian Horner and Richard
Thompson. Sales continue to raise funds for the restoration of 50050 -
currently based at the Yeovil Railway Centre.
Photographic contributions were made from many sources including
contributors to this forum, and reaction to the book was positive.
Encouraged by this, Andy and I are collaborating on another book, hopefully
for publication later this year. Entitled 'Class 50s - The Large-Logo Years',
it is an operational review of the post refurbishment period through the
1980s and on to the demise of the class in the early 1990s.
Once again, help would be appreciated with photographic material and this is
an appeal to anyone who may have suitable pictures for inclusion to get in
touch. My previously book-marked links to fotopic sites are of course of
little use now, but new sites do seem to be appearing all over the net! No
money would be paid for the pictures but all funds raised will be put to
good use on two preserved Class 50s; 50027 Lion and 50050 Fearless. The
chapter summarising the first decade of Class 50s is in need of a view or
two so in spite of the title, pics of the Crewe based era are welcome too as
well as early WR.
