We also now know that they were timed identically, which relates to the comment upthread (see post #16) is that the Waverley appeared to be more smartly timed than the TC (only 10min extra for 4 stops).However in this case I simply wanted to note that both services were diesel-hauled - the absence of a timing load would have implied steam.
There must therefore be another explanation for this - possibly a pathing issue?
(The equivalent northbound trains have a difference of 17min which is about right for the Waverley's 4 stops.)
