Minted pea soup, followed by tuna/mayo, cheese, vegetarian sausage roll, tomato, mash, spicy jacket wedges, coleslaw & extra mayo.

What an odd combo! Hooray for the canteen free-for-all at the end of the day's service (Strangely enough it kinda worked )

I have bought 3 meals from a Chinese Take away for my birthday I bought ribs, Semane Chicken ( I love this), and Chinese Red chicken legs. It is delicious.. I also cooked an egg and some Morrisons Vegetables
All is just 23 quid!

How did you find it compared to the cooking in Hong Kong? Reading up on Hong Kong cuisine on Wikipedia, it is described as being influenced by Cantonese and British cuisine (amongst others) - so it can't be all that different to your standard chinese take away here :P

It is basically the same. Foods do not import from China to here thought( Too Expensive and have large carbon footprint). They are good at using sauces to make food tasty regardless where the food is from. However there are still some difference. The variety of Chinese food is large. (China is a large country, there are 20+ provinces and different places use different sauces and herbs, some are hard to find in Britain so their choices are limited). Due to health and safety concerns, UK dont use big fires to cook (generallly) but in Hongkong they like using big fires to cook food to make it smell better. Britain food culture is very different from china due to their methods and material constraints. But all food are good when you are hungry. You should come to Hong Kong and have a visit! Yum Cha is an activity basically all Hong kongers do . You can get a good bargin in early morning or at late night. It is also a nice thing to talk round a table.
