You'll be aware then that all the fuss about people not being able to understand alternative methods to "First Past the Post" is arrant nonsense.
We up here have a different system for just about every poll yet seem to cope ok.![]()
That would be the Additional Member System (AMS) used for elections to the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and the Greater London Assembly. A form of it is used for elections in Germany and New Zealand. Well, it's not that difficult a system to understand, and does have a track record.
I'm an AS politics student and my teacher is brilliant in that he has his views, we all have ours and we all can talk sensibly about them. Although he doesn't call the Deputy PM Clegg, he refers to him as the liar!
My teacher is fairly neutral to be honest, although he doesn't speak too highly of Brown when asked for his opinion.
As I mentioned earlier, the A2 part of the course is less related to UK party politics and deals more with the philosophical approaches.
Well teachers are supposed to teach fact
It would be completely mundane in certain subjects and would downgrade the teaching, so much of politics is opinion and there is rarely a straightforward "right or wrong" answer away from the core processes.
