Seems like a man has been on the canopies at Ipswich station since around 8.30 this morning, refusing to come down. BTP said he was in possession of a weapon (although since dropped) but still haven't managed to get him down. Lines closed and power off at the station, not a good day for GA (nor for those trying to get to Latitude this weekend).

Lizzie Parry in the Ipswich Star said:Ipswich train station has been evacuated and police negotiators brought in after a man climbed on to the roof, forcing closure of the railway lines.
The man, who is wearing shorts and no shoes and was armed with a retractable knife, is standing on the roof above the main platforms.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics are at the scene after initial calls reporting the incident were received at around 8.20am.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said power to the rail lines has been disconnected and he confirmed the station had been evacuated and closed while officers deal with the incident....
