As for railways you ask?
Have been preconditioned to be a train spotter/general rail enthusiats from birth it appears, my farther, grandfather and great grandfather from the other side built minautre live steam locomotives and we have a nice loop of track in one of my grandfathers fields. I have some videos on youtube. More soon as tahda ive baught myself a proper video camera =D
Ive played MSTS, grew from a love of MSFS, Rail Sim, Lots of time on BVE and just recently SimSig

Sorry, i've been floating around for a wee while now, should've introduced myself properly. I've worked in the railway in scotland more than several years now and i'm generally interested in the industry though i'm by no means an enthusiast, not that I mean any disrespect by that! I've learned a few things thanks to this forum already and hope to increase my knowledge further as well as contribute myself. Thanks.

Favourite units/locos - 142s are my favourite, don't ask me why but they are. Also like HSTs, the TW Metro and class 60s. Don't particularly like Voyagers and Pendos, a train should be a train and not an attempt or an aeroplane on rails.
Currently looking to be either a project manager or transport planner either with Network Rail or a PTE.

FAVOURITE UNITS: 121s, with HSTs and the D stock not too far behind. I generally don't mind most units, with the rather famous exception of EMUs whose Class numbers are between 313 and 323 inclusive - especially at the tail end of that group.
AMBITION: The last 18 months have seen a complete transition in my ambition with the result that my heart is in Education no longer. Ever since the events of October 28th 2011 (a day I have termed the "Day of Disaster", named after Thunderbirds Episode #15), I have increasingly wished to work within the Transport Industry, and I now have a path laid out before me which should ultimately result in a management position at FirstGroup. Where exactly this would be though needs to be decided, as First have almost no presence in the four places I had previously identified as being where I would consider settling after University...

Other interests: Astronomy, painting ( art ), reading, photography.

Lifetime rail mileage: Over 360,000 miles and counting.
Modifications: Fitted with a left side cochlear implant.
It is quite possible some of you will have seen me out and about on my travels; I am most often found in a forward facing unidirectional window seat wherever I am.
Pacers ( well, I'm going to get asked aren't I?! ) are OK by me - I enjoy the bumpy bouncing around. By far the bumpiest, bounciest journey I have ever had was on an SNCF Z5100 on a main line run in 1992. It made the 142s seem as smooth as a Mk3 in comparison!
Apart from preserved stuff and stuff still being built, I have virtually every haulage in the UK, virtually every haulage in the Ile de France area, some from the rest of France, a good few in Belgium, a small number in Germany and a slightly larger number on the New York Subway - including a "Redbird" rake.

Hi folks iam mark Jones and live in Bognor Regis on the south coast of England.
I like plane spotting and photography but also find trains very interesting too and after posting a few posts of Trains over there they advised me that this would be a good spot to do that.
Its a very nice forum, i will show my photos later, hope to enjoy it here. My local Train company is Southern which has a fleet of 377s and newly aquired 313s and the 455s which i see nearer London.
