I like heavy metal music and any other types of rock with it being, doom, glam, classic or vintage i just love it

Right you must be wondering what my favorite traction is? well its any type of loco apart from 25' 26' s, 27's and 33's

Hi, I'm new so I thought I'd better introduce myself. I work in the computer industry and have nothing to do with railways other than as an occasional passenger. By the way, all the above bands, whilst good, are rather tame compared to Killing Joke, one of Jimmy Page's favourites and the precursors to Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry....I could go on. Some of you may be familiar with cover versions of their songs done by Metallica (The Wait) and Foo Fighters (Requiem).

My name is Noémie, I am French, I am studying English and I want to be a translator. For university I have to do some research work about trains in order to write a dissertation which will consist in a sort of English-French dictionary of electric and diesel trains. I chose trains because I've always been obsessed by them. When I hand in my dissertation, if it is good enough hopefully I will get a master's degree in translation and lexicon studies.

I would be glad to get in touch with English-speaking train drivers or technicians so as to get reliable information about how do you call this and that in English, also maybe to help me find English books and documents I can get some information from.

If any of you is willing to help me, please let me know!

Well Noémie, I am not a driver or a technician but I can tell you that Les tampons = the buffers.

That's one translation that always causes a laugh when first time English visitors to Paris see the notices in the REr trains warning what not to do in order to stay safe, but I'll leave it to someone else to explain why!

Hi. Anyone from Sheff or Yorkshire who used to go out circa-82-86. You might remember me. I got called the Blackadder by Johnny and Southy the syphon bashers. My name's Stepheven Guest. I was a syphon man myself though not very main. I did a few freedoms and had syphons here and there to Blackpool or skeggy or on the Yarmouth-York. I was alos a big fan of the Hoovers, my lotto ##s are after my fav 50's. 3 5 14 27 34 46.
My brother was a basher too. Richard and our little gang was us Jay and Si, Maltby, Rassal and of course, Paul Marley...25 086 himself. He got called 25 086 'cause everyone told him it was on that leeds-sheff that produced in the evening but he didn't believe them and missed it thinking it was going to be 31 439 or w/e ha ha ha.
