I did station scratching once in the winter evening, would have been early 2008 (no more that that year, but maybe late 2007) and it was getting dark but at was around 7pm, my last station Clapton was done, but I was robbed on the 315 coming back.

Never been up that line since, I'll be up again to finish off the stations I need, but will be done very early AM or mid-day max

If they were not on the train how did they stop it before it had fully entered the station?

How would the driver have noticed the attack before he was fully in the station?

They must have been on the platform to reach the windows to smash them and to climb in them as the doors were shut.
Easy-

train arriving into the station,
Somebody jumps off the platform onto the track some distance in front of the train,
Driver makes emergency brake application and stops the train short of the person,
rest of gang attack the train!

Not difficult to work out really! ;)

<Off topic as this probably is>

Re Mark Duggan's family-
They have stated that they will be mounting a series of legal actions to get the verdict reversed. No mention of compensation has been made and I believe it would be most unlikely to succeed with the current verdict of Lawful Killing in place.

Who is paying for all these legal challenges?

What ever your views of this shooting, Mark Duggan wasnt exactly off to Sunday School when he got shot was he!

The Duggan family caused loads of problem in court but weren't charged with contempt to ensure nothing flared up. And after, it's clear that a decision was made to force the family to state they didn't want any rioting, by thanking them for exactly the opposite of what they'd done up until then.

Clever, as it now forced them to agree, much to their annoyance I'm sure. Not that they'd have incited a riot anyway as few people could care less for a gangster that was on his way to possibly murder someone in retaliation.

Having the vigil outside Tottenham police station, especially during the Spurs game, was stupid. Especially as the officers weren't even from there. Even David Lamy agreed it would have probably been better off somewhere else, like a community Hall or church.

Anyway, I still believe they'll pursue this until they reach an out of court settlement. Let's wait and see.

What they definitely won't do is overturn the verdict.
