Impossible journeys

Are there many 'impossible journeys' between two open stations on the same line? By this I mean that to take a direct train from Denton to Reddish South Or Stockport. The Parly only runs one way, so it is impossible. Obviously, these journeys can be made on local buses.

Bordesley to Small Heath (this way only)

Then there are ones that are only possible on a couple of trains a day, like Totton to Redbridge, or Pewsey to Bedwyn.

That's also the longest stretch of line in the UK between two stations.

My old "favourite"... Streatham Hill to Tulse Hill is only available over the direct Leigham Curve once per weekday in that direction only in regular passenger service.

Halton Curve where its Chester to Runcorn only and the train doesn't call at Helsby or Frodsham.

Wolverhampton to Walsall is another one.

Three Oaks to/from Winchelsea during off-peak. The Brighton-Ashford service stops alternately at one of these two stations and doubling back via Hastings or Rye breaks the 3 miles longer than the shortest route limit.

If we're talking about two open stations on the same line, but not geographically consecutive: Brundall Gardens - Buckenham is impossible to do without a change at Brundall either way. But I don't think that counts, quite!

On same line:

Elton & Orston has no service in either direction to/from:
Swineshead, Hubberts Bridge, Thorpe Culvert & Havenhouse.

There are probably a number of other combinations involving infrequent stops on the Skegness line.

I was surprised to find that Newark North Gate has trains to ALL stations between Newark Castle & Nottingham in both directions....

Another thought: You can buy a off peak return from Nottingham to Elton & Orston - but how do you use the return portion?
And East Midlands Trains Journey Planner won't allow you to travel on the 0510 or 0550 ex Nottingham changing at Bottesford either.

Headingley to Woodlesford? Both passed non-stop by the steam circular specials from York, with no intervening station.

South Milford to Doncaster - via the SO Skipton to Kings Cross service.
