If you are wondering who the random with the dodgy Polish surname is, that is me.

Plenty of feeds on there. I'm very reliant on them when travelling anywhere.

Not to ruin the thread, but will someone tell me what is so great about Twitter please?
It's a quick and easy way to get bits of information to a lot of people, people can choose who they want to follow and have their homepage filled with information they are interested in. You don't necessarily need to go 'searching' for anything.

The thing I don't get about the Twitter is why you have to follow Stephen Fry.

Have resisted the urge so far

I was a sceptic too to be honest. But if you use it to get the info you want its very good. Brilliant for train disruption when out and about

The thing I don't get about the Twitter is why you have to follow Stephen Fry.

In the early days of Twitter, he was one of the first to 'get' the idea and send out lots of tweets on all manner of subjects, so following him was an easy way of getting lots of messages to read (sad? yes probably).

But now all the luvvies are sending thousands of tweets, it is not necessary to follow anyone just for the sake of it.

Ian Botham can be good at times, and he seems to invite two-way banter with his followers especially if they are charity orientated.

Many of the celebs are very predictable and most have lots of fake accounts run by others who think they are clever to try and pretend they are someone famous. Like with most internet ideas, they eventually get ruined either by idiots or by those who want to relieve you of your hard earned cash.

A lot of the footballers' accounts are good. Especially Gary Neville and Joey Barton

I tried it awhile ago and didn't really do much, but I'm @trent_traveller

Am going to follow some people from here, as well as TOC accounts. Lets see how it goes this time :)

In terms of the NRE and the TOC's twitter feeds, it can be quite good because disruption info will often be posted there before the NRE site has actually been updated. And it is just there in your feed, so there is no need to specifically check for disruption. Been very useful for me.
I'm @WelshBluebird anyway, I don't tweet a lot that is interesting, mainly rants about football or late trains!

I'm rather enjoying this Twittering thing. Information gets passed between people so quickly.

For some reason unbeknown to myself, and not conveyed to me by Twitter, my account has been suspended. I have tried mailing them and asking why this has happened but I have received no response. In their own rules they say if you have been suspended for a breach of rules you will be informed by email. I have had no such mail so I can assume its not that. Very frustrating though as I was enjoying using Twitter

@FGW is interesting, especially the uneducated abuse people direct at it.
@FGWollie is also a good one to follow, Ollie works in ticket office at Paddington, and always has something interesting to say. completely unofficial but normally get more accurate response than the official fgw feed which seems scripted, depending on the question

Had your account been hacked? If so, once you get an email through from them (unless the hacker has changed your email address), you will have to change your password, screen name and possibly even your email address.

I noticed that. Can't say I'm impressed. Your twitter feed was the first thing that came up when I pressed "x" in the address bar

That's very odd, never happened to me though. I look forward to seeing you back soon!

I'd just set a new one up. I'd imagine with the amount of users there are, it'll take them a while to respond to your email.
