HS2 route seen from space-ish

Thought this was quite cool. You can see the HS2 route from space-ish. Here it is on Google Earth

Visible due to the wide swathe of earthworks along the route.
Once it's finished and the surrounding, disturbed land has been restored, or landscaped, I doubt it'll be visible in that view.

Was looking at this the other day, though unfortunately when you zoom in, most is no longer visible for now. You can also see the Madrid–Lisbon route under construction

It looks like they started from Birmingham heading for Heathrow, but after getting through the Chilterns they changed course for London instead.

I think it is more to do with the age of the imagery, with the zoomed in being older. Apparently the Northern line has been running into an empty concrete box for the past few years at Battersea Power Station station.

Yes the age will be the main factor, although both are reportedly 2024.
