True but as Crossrail is more of a metro type service, you wouldn't be putting London in the name.
There isn't, to be fair, a Tube station called "Bridge".

Not really a serious suggestion on my part, more a sideways look at the remarkable number of Acton stations. One more wouldn't hurt!IMHO far too much confusion with the several stations in Acton
Either that or Wormwood Scrubs, which has already been suggested on this thread, and is quite a well-known name.As the station is built on Old Oak Common, I'd go for Old Oak Common for Crossrail

Neither would the area's property developers!!!I wouldn't want a Crossrail station to be named after a Prison
Honestly I wouldn’t put it past TFL after hearing that there’s plans to name a new Bakerloo like station “Asylum”I wouldn't want a Crossrail station to be named after a Prison
London William V* HS2 station.

I would always want to keep 'Old Oak' in the name because of its history, but London Gateway might be good?
The service area formerly known as Scratchwood? That's a service area on the M1!

Two London Gateways is enough already (1 port, 1 services).
I mentioned West London Interchange upthread, but TBH I'm happy with London Old Oak Common. It does need "London" on it though.
Or for simplicity/brevity, "Common" is removed. But then that does sort of lose the meaning of the area.
In many ways, the acronym would be perfect for the area.

HMS Belfast's guns are aimed at London Gateway service station, so it is a very simple operation to remove it remotely, leaving the name spare for OOC station...Two London Gateways is enough already (1 port, 1 services).
Ok so London and Interchange are needed ideallyI guess the typical person travelling into London will never have heard of Old Oak Common and have even less idea of why they should want to get off the train at that stop, and will probably opt to travel to Euston because it's known with good connections.
Maybe pick a name which makes it clear why anyone should want to get off, if it's because its an interchange station then putting Interchange in the name seems obvious, which probably means it won't happen and it will be called something meaningless and obscure, with people forever being prompted to get of at the next nondescript station for services to ....

London Old Oak Interchange is a bit of a mouthful, I’d say.

I'd just call it "London West".
"London West Interchange" would be more comprehensive, but for me the two word version is simpler.
It's interesting reading the ideas here and considering the situation elsewhere on the line. Both the HS2 Birmingham Interchange and Manchester Interchange stations have always been proposed with the generic names, as opposed to "Birmingham Bickenhill" or "Manchester Davenport Green" (or anything similar). If it's good enough for them why isn't "(West) London Interchange" good enough for OOC? Or alternatively if "London Old Oak Common" was chosen then why do Birmingham and Manchester have to stick with the generic "Interchange" names?
