Does anyone know the diagrams for the HP liveried 43's for tomorrow. I'd love to get a photo of one of them. Are they due into Paddington at any time?

Diagrams aren't usually available this soon, however, all FGW 43's that aren't on depot will reach Paddington in a day unless they break down.

FGW 43148 in NEW HP advertising livery 28th May 2013

Two First Great Western Class 43 powercars were released into traffic today (28th May 2013) wearing the new Hewlett Packard sponsored advertising livery. Seen here is No. 43148 (with 43188) at Torquay and Paignton on the Up and Down Torbay Express's showing both sides, before they get dirty....

Use the huge promotional space on their side of a train.....to promote their own train, or bus? Where is the income from that?

It's easy money and will become much more commonplace.

There's been a hell of a lot of internet wibble in the past week by people who are seemingly surprised at a train company applying advertising, but people are forgetting the Ginsters 158 that Wessex Trains had, also there was a Hornby liveried Class 43 about 10 years ago (I wonder if that was better received because it's a company enthusiasts like?).

That would be some of the Thameslink 319s in a Lyca Mobile advertising livery IIRC, or some similar operator. Agreed, graffiti would pretty much improve it... Anyone?

Bit of a while away however 43148 is currently at Penzance and due to depart on 1A94 - ETA Paddington 2131 hrs.

And I never thought I'd say this, but I think you're right; the graffiti would improve this 319...

Having just done a freedom of the South West, I noticed that lots of stations in Cornwall have adverts for local businesses on the station name boards. It almost makes it look as if the local solicitors/estate agents are running the trains!!

FGW are apparently planning on putting this livery onto 2 more Power cars and onto 2 150s from what I have heard.
