How could the Mid-Cheshire Line be improved?

Interesting, thanks! Does it really cause that much of a bottleneck? The CLC line isn’t a particularly busy one, but I suppose this could be more of an issue for the trams.
A six minute frequency (each way) at Navigation Road has been possible on the Metrolink for some time now, in normal times, not sure if this is the minimum possible.

The single track section of the Metrolink network at Newton Heath & Moston station (formerly Dean Lane in BR days) has always seems to be more of an operational bottleneck to me than Navigation Road, possibly because the single track section there is longer.

I imagine it's more of a problem for the trams than the trains, but it's still part of the reason the Mid-Cheshire line hasn't had service uplifts at least as far as Hale (Although Manchester Piccadilly capacity is a bigger problem).
