Just reading everyone's thoughts about the quiet coach, and it made me think that perhaps in an ideal world where every train has lots of coaches
it would be lovely to be able to escape from the detritus and smell of people's eating habits while on the move!
The 1804 LM Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street often resembles a mobile branch of McDonalds, and smells like it too!
I have no objection to people consuming coffee, tea or a sandwich (provided it's cold and they don't litter the wrappers/cartons on table, seats or floor), but even strong smelling crisps permeate the atmosphere in enclosed spaces.
This suggestion is obviously tic, but having moved seat to get away from someone's burger, only to find myself next to a group of four kebab-consumers, it's a nice idea isn't it?
