Holding Pool

Hi Folks

Just a few questions.

I have mentioned before that I have been out on hold for one of three vacancies for Northern Rail.

When I received the notification that I had passed the assessments I was told that they were assessing the conductor requirements for the depot I had applied for and would be in touch.

Can I ask, is been on hold for a job the same as being in a holding pool as there is a six month limit then you have to re-apply for the job again.

I was chatting to a conductors this week and she said she was out on hold for 9 months then got a job offer, three months more than the six month limit.

Also, does having a one month notice period with your employer damage the chances of you getting a job as there are a lot of people on here who are being notified that they are starting on courses soon but I am hearing nothing, when I contact Northern HR they say they cannot provide me with an update yet.

getting a bit worried that my notice period is going against me and that when the six months holding pool limit gets closer (Dec 2013) I am going to miss out on the job.

anyone's advice would be greatly appreciated.:cry:

Have you had an interview? Or is it just the pre online test your talking about?

Hi Mate

Just realised my mistake.

Had my interview May and conductor assessment in June, I was told a week after the conductor test that they were assessing conductor requirements at the station I have applied for.
