Hi all,
What do you think are the main barriers to increasing capacity and/or reducing journey times on the HML? Is it the long single line sections, the signaling, speed restrictions, underpowered stock given the gradients? If you had a sizable but not unrestricted budget, what one (or two at most) things would you change?
Also, is there a case to be made for doubling up the Edinburgh and Glasgow services as far as Perth so that the number of services to each city was doubled with the same number of paths?
Answers on a postcard.
