From December 2008, XC started an hourly Manchester Piccadilly-Bristol Temple Meads service, calling at: Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, Birmingham new St, Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway only, but of course, everyone kicked off about that, along with the Viaduct contract thing, though it was never proved, hence in May 2009, all trains bar two a day in each direction now stop, as do all services on all other TOCs (the Euston-Manchester Piccadilly evening service via Wilmslow also goes via Styal, not Stockport). Since XC gained the franchise, and since the Manchester Piccadilly-Bournemouth trains have become hourly, all services on this route have called at Stockport, along with Macclesfield. The Bristol trains also call at Stafford now too, good to see it back on the CrossCountry network properly, along with the new destinations it brings
