You seem perfectly happy with the M40.
To be fair with that though, the first bit of the M40 around High Wycombe was opened in 1967 right at the time the railway was in a bit of a decline. The cutting at Lewknor opened in 1974 and was originally planned as a tunnel but got changed to the cutting due to cost. To be fair, they did a good job with that due to the curvature as you can't see it until you are on it.
