Can anybody please give some information on locations and diagrams of Pacers allocated to Heaton?
I am unsure if there are any Middlesbrough/ Darlo Durham - Newcastle runs in passenger service any more.
Most certainly, two services in the morning peak northbound Saltburn - Newcastle via Darlington and one service late in the evening Newcastle - Middlesbrough via Darlington.
5A60 runs every night from Knaresborough -Heaton via York. That is usually pacers that have been working in the Leeds area all day.

I didnt know that they still ran. A bit off my radar now
The evening Newcastle - Middlesbrough now stops short at Darlington, has done so for a couple of years (during the week). There is still a one on a Saturday night which goes via Darlo.
Well if you will go swanning off down south!![]()
And during the week too: as extra trains in the slots where there is normally a two-hour gap in the service.Conversely I have, however, become and expert on the Bishop Auckland line! For instance last Saturday Northern ran a 4 car 156 train to service demand for the A4 event at Shildon!
Simply: Any Northern diagram anywhere in the North east, Yorkshire or Cumbria!
It is a very fluid allocation pool as they could turn up on almost any service run by Northern. They seem to be almost interchangeable with the 156 pool but you are looking at Newcastle to Carlisle/Hexham, Newcastle to Middlesbrough, Darlington to Saltburn/Bishop Auckland, Newcastle to Morpeth etc for pacers.
Basically any service on the North East not run by East Coast, Cross Country or TPE could have a pacer on it!![]()
I might be going totally doolally here, but wasn't there a decision not to operate pacers on the Middlesbrough-Whitby line - something to do with their not being regarded suitable for the crowds of schoolchildren who used to use it?
Could well be - although i have been down there on a 142 ( and a 143) and a 156.
