50008 is currently at the Chinnor and princess Risborough heritage railway connected up to the London Underground 4TC set. My photos from yesterday (25/9/25).

Reported on WNXX this morning that the tour has been cancelled, it seems that a coach handbrake was left on resulting in a severe flat

50008 had worked 0451 3Z92 Wembley Receptions 1-7 to Barking with 92011 on the rear

No further info on RTT at present regarding any movement

Hopefully 92011 can lead the train ECS across North London at a convenient time at least! Before 7am didn’t look great for me!

I wonder if they will try to have a re-run of this at some point, there was some nice track on it for 50s, although the draw of 92011 working a leg was a factor in my booking

You are correct. Railcam showcased a video of it passing Barking cams and the wheel flats sound really bad. Clunk...Clunk...Clunk...

50008 found its way to Chaddesden as Saturdays 1930 0M50 from Wembley Loco Sidings after working 1618 0M08 from Ripple Lane Railhead

92011 worked Saturdays 1218 0Z23 Ripple Lane Railhead to Crewe TMD (E)

The Class 50 Alliance loco move from Kidderminster SVR to Crewe was cancelled prior to its booked departure

50008 was scheduled to work 1300 0E50 Chaddesden Sidings to Knottingley TMD which was cancelled and replaced by 1335 0D50 Chaddesden Curve to Burton West Yard

The only fact I know is that 50008 has gone to Burton West Yard rather than back to Knottingley TMD but for what reason I know not

A completely uncorroborated comment I've seen online is that the affected 4TC vehicle will have to be removed from Ripple Lane by road as it suffered too much damage for rail movement, presumably the other three vehicles will be moved by rail

It's supposed to be going to Cleethorpes this month, still time for plan B but I hope the TC is sorted soon

50008 is on the tour to Cleethorpes along with a Class 50 Alliance loco and ERS MK2 stock, not the 4TC.

News that the Excursions by Rails 'Festive Capital Thunderer' due to run on December 6th has been cancelled, no confirmation on their rather unhelpful website or their equally unhelpful Facebook page as yet but emails have reportedly been sent to people who had booked, H&H have removed details of the tour from their website already
