Passed psychometrics and MMI on 19th May for Paddington Talent Pool, posted previously about it. Just been invited for the DMI which is on 19th June at 11am Paddington Station

People are still being recruited just that vacancies are now limited for the foreseeable and there may be a long wait in the talent pools.

I had my DMI at BTM on a Friday and found out I was successful the following Monday.

I dont know if anyone is aware or if its been covered in this thread, but incase it hasn't, the application rules have now changed.
If you've failed your assessment twice, you can now apply to do it a third time. The OPC invigilator mentioned it on the assessment day today.

Not inherently, the application rules depend on when you first sat any tests. This was talked about in a separate thread

Interesting, I dont believe they mentioned you have to wait 5 years. Im pretty sure they said 3. I was more suprised that they added a 3rd chance.

Hi. Just trying to prepare for my MMI and I could do with some advice. Is it ok to use the same scenario to answer 2 of the questions? I'm finding that a task I do fits really well with both the rules and procedures question and the one about a role similar to a trian driver. I don't want to end up repeating myself, even if discussing things from a different angle. Your thoughts would be gratefully received. TIA
I used the same scenario for the exact same questions you mention and passed so can’t be a problem.

hi, i passed my MMI a couple of weeks ago and just thought I'd jump in. Most of my examples were around more or less the same thing since I work in IT with databases a lot of my day to day job covers the first 4 questions with things like rules & procedures, struggling with error, not making mistakes, dealing with emergency system failures etc. So i don't think there is an issue with using the same examples so long as you can explain why its relevant.
Another bit of experience i would share is that i went into it thinking that it was going to be very regimented, that i would need to give a perfect STAR example to each question and then answer a set of follow ups. However is was a lot more of a back and forth discussion, the questions were more topics to talk about and i think that's even what the guy interviewing me called them. By the end i wasn't even doing full STAR answers, i was just giving the ST part and waiting for him to ask questions. It felt like the guy was asking me questions to guide me towards what he needed for the criteria, including some hypotheticals.
All this to say, if you have a doubt about your examples just tell the interviewer. I don't think they are there to catch you out. I would say the vibe was kind of like a 1 to 1 appraisal with a manager at work if you've ever had one of those. Not a chit-chat as such but also not like an interrogation. so long as you are answering honestly and keeping in mind the qualities a train driver needs you should be ok.

Thanks, I hope you get a good one too. Since its a structured interview i doubt they would let there be too much variation between interviewers.
I'm in the running for Reading depot. So far reading these forums I've only seen 1 or 2 other people going of reading so I've got my fingers crossed that there's not much competition for it lol.

I posted a similar question on another forum a few weeks ago but thought I'd check again. I signed up for alerts about driver positions in January and have never received any. Does that sound right? I'm SW London hoping for any between Waterloo and Twickenham so eligible for a fair few depots.
And if everything is paused until 27/28 is the likelihood that there won't be any more advertised until next year?

This thread is for great western. They dont serve between Waterloo and Twickenham. Are you sure you meant to post in the SWR thread?
As for trainee driver alerts, as far as im aware, the last time they posted for them was back in December for Paddington, Reading and Oxford.
Im not aware of any other positions that have been advertised since.

SWR actually had a vacancy for Waterloo today around 1530. But as expected, it was closed after a few hours. And the only 2 TOC’s to send me job alerts are first rail and gwr. I set a job alert for Waterloo just last night and didn’t get any updates.
