Hello

Are there any GWR drivers on here who can explain the above as I would like to know what the current new entrant GWR salary is and how it will raise to the proposed £62k.

Thanks

I'm not a driver (yet) but my current role means I know as much, if not more, than most drivers about the new Ts+Cs

It will raise in increments, slightly differently depending if ex-west or ex-LTV, in May 2019 and finally May 2020. New entrants will be on circa 27k training salary (unsure what it is exactly, as I will keep my higher one as an internal) then 80% of full in 1st year productive, 90% in second year productive (less any time off sick, restricted from driving and any other paid or unpaid leave except annual leave,) and finally 100% from 12months after 1st year productive anniversary date.

Annual leave also increases slightly at each pay anniversary date. You will get the full allocation from day 1 (it's worked out Jan-Dec and there's a formula for how many days you get in your first year when you start part way through)

There are various other things that come in at various points over the 2year implementation period, but none of those should worry you when you haven't yet started. As, they won't be changes by the time you're in grade

Hi Tiptoptaff thanks for your detailed answer. I am a qualified driver and have recently been offered a position with GWR. I have been told that I will go in on the new ‘GWR’ contract. I have yet to receive contract but should go in on full pay. I’m wondering what the current GWR rate is? Weighing it all up as my current TOC pays quite a bit more!

You will enter on 90% ie, 2nd year, salary as a qualified entrant for your first year, if on the new GWR contract. At least, that's what the book says. Off hand it's circa 50. LTV get their big jump this year, and West get theirs next year. Which depot are you going to?

Ahh ok well I’ll wait and see what the contract says when it comes through. I can’t imagine many drivers wanting to come across taking a pay cut. I’ve been offered a position at Oxford. How about yourself?

Short term pain and all that....the book says 2nd year rate (ie 90%.) Ex-LTV will get a large jump towards the top number salary in May 2019 then a smaller one in 2020. Ex-West will be the other way around.

I'll be heading to Bristol, eventually..!

Did you get contact with the same info? 90% in the end?

Im in the same position and was told that it depends on the job advert. If it was full salary advertised then thats what you are on.
