On the 6 July I was delayed , travelling from Alton ( Leave 16:15) to Great Malvern ( Arrive 19:47) . Due to a fatality on the line into Paddington, trains from Reading were delayed and I arrived in Great Malvern at 21:41 according to the platform display.
I was encourage to claim delay repay for 60 to119 mins. I have been granted a payment for 120 plus mins. Do GWR use different timings to those available to the public or are they being generous?

I think sometimes when there is something like a fatality and most trains and journeys are heavily delayed, it is easier to be generous that to use lots of admin time.

I assume it is done so as not to create a big backlog of claims, many of which would get paid in full anyway.

I've found GWR to be generally efficient, and sometimes generous, in their payment of my delay repay claims. Certainly in one case I got substantially more than I was "officially" owed - on that occasion my presumption that they were clearing a backlog of claims.

I have unfortunately had to do a lot of GWR claims, and I have always had a good experience - I think I had one which was like 59 mins and they gave me 60-119 compensation, so it was probably generous
