Tonight GWR is running an 8V00 between Redhill LHS and Guildford UCHS. First time seeing them use Guildford UCHS. Also is GWR setting up freight operation? I thought class 8 headcodes were for slow freight.

Given how long it takes, it might be a unit being moved on skates? Not sure why it would be moving to Guildford and not Reading though. Will presumably be 165110, as that failed at Redhill yesterday and has been in the sidings ever since.

I agree it is probably a unit on skates. Judging by its booked arrival time of 0442 in Guildford they probably can't get it Reading in one night without it interfering with morning start up.

Expect another path on another night from Guildford to Reading. Alternatively they may road transport from Guildford but I would imagine that would only be a last resort. In addition road transport would only make sense if you can't road transport from Redhill but can from Guildford. Apologies I don't know the area well.

Confirmed a 3 car 165, screenshots from Railcam. A 165 in which was moving very slowly so it being on skates seems the most likely. It also had one of it's interlock lights on during movement, interestingly.
