Elmstead Woods?

The river segment on the map feels like this should be distinctive but can't place it

That's Marlow, going by the shape of the lakes in the map?
Absolutely right! I bet that’s the first time anyone has worked out the answer to one of these that way. I actually thought someone would guess that one pretty quickly! I was going to post this view from the same spot facing the other way if they didn’t. Anyway all yours!

I figured you'd left the lakes part of the map in as a clue...?

Anyway... here's the next entry; no fiendish editing again - just blanking out anything that would give it away instantly:

That is interesting what looks like a one platform terminus but with a buffet and substantial building! Is it still just a single platform?

Manchester Airport?
Well spotted - yes, in 1997 so not long after it opened. It's grown a bit since!

Over to you to flag away the next offering.

I think its a very old photo as I was about 5 when trains looked like that. I think this is Avonmouth station?

Lisa
Afraid not, because as you can see it's Manchester Airport. I think they'd love to have facilities like this at Avonmouth, though. It would make the railway much more attractive.

It was two platforms at the time; that's not actually a reflection of the train - it's another train on the other side!

Thank you an interesting picture! I wonder if the 158 was on one of the short lived through trains to Euston? Next one…
