Looks like a hair got caught under the photo when it was being scanned. (Bottom left of the photo for anyone who's wondering what we're talking about)

It is a 35mm slide so it is possible. They have got into some of the photos when I scanned them. You do have to keep cleaning the glass while you are scanning to remove debris. Also with them being slides they also appear very big as you have to enlarge the image.
