To be honest, it was used as a bay platform but is now just disused now. Every time I have been there, I have never seen a train arriving or departing to or from this particular platform

Actually most Crewe-Derby trains stop and depart from platform 2b now.

They did stop there in the past but like I said, don't think anyone uses it now

Hmm, when i was there in summer, all Crewe stuff wss using 5 - this was a weekday afternoon though, stuff may vary. Still, nice to know that the dry, warm, sheletered facing cannot be used, and that the wet, exposed side must be used instead... :roll: as before

That is why I said as far as I was aware. Whenever I get there either for a couple of hours in the morning to head towards York or coming back from there, I have never seen a train stop in that bay.
