I have the same problem whenever I see Peter Mugridge has posted after I've put up a poser. The Mugster seems to have been everywhere that I've been, and viewed it from exactly the same angle!

Try this one. I like using these older pictures because pre-privatisation liveries aren't such a giveaway.

Well, I've never been to Frome. Passed through it once on some sort of suburban Bristol-based DMU (118?) from Weymouth to Westbury, very possible while asleep. Following your clues and looking for a single track line with an old platform still extant, I remembered having seen Frome in my recently acquired Western Region Quail book and thought I'd give it a whirl.

As for having never seen anything but 156s in RR livery, what can I say except that you haven't lived mate!

Oh thanks (!) It did throw me.

Being only 21 is a disadvantage And regarding those 156s, all I've ever done was Norwich to Lowestoft and back. And those two stations aside I have almost no memory of the journey. Not to mention that this was post-privatisation.
