Yes, I guessed that however we ask that people use full names if possible. If abbreviations are to be used, then the correct 3-letter code should be used, and preferably the station name should be mentioned the first time it is used, with the correct code in brackets. Otherwise it can cause confusion, especially if someone said to take a train to "LLS" from somewhere like Audley End, you know they don't mean the actual LLS but you have no idea if they mean a north or south bound train!

I guess in the quiz forum it's not quite such an issue, but with the greatest respect, IPT, if you use the wrong code in the fares and routing section then you will be rightly admonished.

You may call it that but on here please use the name, rather than a 3-letter code. If appropriate, feel free to use an abbreviation as long as it's not a 3-letter acronym. E.g. For Birmingham, BNS (Barnes!) would not be acceptable, but "Brum" would be fine. Sorry if that sounds pedantic, and I know it doesn't really matter much in the Quiz forum, but people reading this may not have a clue where "RTV" is (all it means to me is rail travel vouchers!) and if they tried to look it up, they'd not be able to figure it out.

Anyway, back to guess the station, I am ruling out the Whitby line!

Well, I have actually got off a train at Bempton! (A time killer as had time to kill at Scarborough, and didn't want to risk the connection at Bridlington) however I'd be lying if I said I remembered it well enough to instantly get it! It's very difficult from that angle, as you can't see the building easily, but I see you got that pic from Wikipedia

Fair enough your doing better than me, I've only been through it! I actually nabbed the photo from NRE rather than Wikipedia but they are nearly identical

I must admit I enjoyed watching people guessing stations in Wales on the opposite side of the country!
