That's the only staggered double track on a curve I can think of that meets the rest of the description.

Right... I've dug out a picture which not only oozes with atmosphere but it could be any one of a number of stations. And for the benefit of those following the night photography thread, this was taken at f5.6 for 10 seconds on ASA100 film.

Looks a bit grim, stone platform construction, the footbridge seems quite high and there seems to be an overhead line on the top right. This rules out the Southern region, it's not in the North West, it's the wrong architecture for the West Midlands so it's either on the triangle or in Scotland.
